As I watch these kind of videos calling themselves pilgrimages, I want to tell you these videos are not true Representatives of what a pilgrimage is. . .alot of folks walk the Camino, with an attitude that there at a party, a lot of wine drinking goes on... A true pilgrimage isn't an opportunity to suffer to earn a kind of a indulgence, (browny points with God) . . .but it is an opportunity to press into the things of God . . .praying, reading your Bible and witnessing your faith with people. . . A biblical mandate for going on a pilgrimage. Mark 16:15 says to go into all the World and Preach the Gospel of Salvation to everyone . . . A pilgrimage is not a vacation . . . it's not an opportunity to find yourself . . .what ever that means? A Pilgrimage is a lifestyle, a rejecting of Babylon the (World), in favour of the Kingdom of God . . It's living with what you can carry, living by faith trusting God to meet all your needs... Matthew 6:33... 1Timothy 6:7-8 If you only walk or bicycle tour 5 miles in any direction from where you are at right now, and then did it again the next day, you will never run out of folks that need to hear the Gospel of Salvation...Roman 10:14-17 in a lifetime. Traveling as a lifestyle with what you can carry, with the sole purpose of witnessing, passing out gospel tracts, open air preaching . . . and spending time in prayer and searching the scriptures. . .is what a pilgrimage is really all about . . . The Camino (yellow arrows) also starts in Sé de Faro (interior)-Tavira Church of Santiago (East) from south ALGARVE of Portugal and follows up from interior from Alentejo to Oporto (Central or to Lisbon and Fátima junction( blue arrows) of pilgrinage and from the coast up to Oporto...Also from Camino do Norte Chaves Bragança and Orense....I mean the Camino de Santiago Compostela in fact are a sequence of many other directions that will reach Compostela...

This is the American version of the European Camino... I am praying about hiking the "Pilgrim's Trail" this is the Arizona Trail connecting to the Hayduke trail then the American Discovery Trail...once at the ADT you can go East or West...

"Álvaro de Velegia (Iruña Veleia) huyó a Asturias en el siglo IX para protegerse de las invasiones árabes. Cuando el Obispado vuelve a Álava toma otra titularidad porque Veleia debe estar destruida." ( Valpuesta ? , La aukensis ? también ) … Al Ava y Al Qila "Álava tuvo su Obispado en Iruña Veleia antes que en Armentia" Iruña Veleia, la ciudad tardorromana entre Víllodas y Trespuentes, que constituye el yacimiento arqueológico más importante del País Vasco, y actualmente cerrada al público por el escándalo de los grafitos falsos, sigue dando sorpresas, pero en esta ocasión positivas. Según el historiador e investigador alavés Alberto González de Langarica, existen documentos relacionados con la monarquía asturiana que demuestran que "antes de Armentia hubo un Obispado en Álava, en la ciudad de Veleia". De ahí deduce también que pudieron ser los árabes los que destruyeron el oppidum. González de Langarica expuso su tesis en una conferencia sobre los orígenes del Camino de Santiago en el territorio, organizada por la cofradía de Santa María de Estíbaliz, aunque ya la había esbozado en el año 2006 en la revista de fiestas Celedón. La historia conocida habla siempre del Obispado de Armentia o de Álava como el más antiguo. Hay documentación que registra esa prelatura desde finales del siglo IX y su desaparición dos siglos después, en 1087, cuando a la muerte de Fortunio II, ocupa su lugar el prelado de Calahorra, Pedro Nazar. La sede episcopal se reduce desde entonces a colegiata sin mitrado. La provincia eclesiástica dependió desde ese año de la ciudad riojana hasta 1862 con la erección de la diócesis vascongada con sede en Vitoria. Después del Imperio "Después de la caída del Imperio Romano, en el siglo V, entramos en una época oscura, un momento de la historia en el que apenas hay documentación escrita y escasos resto arqueológicos", comenta el historiador. Aquí se conocía la existencia entre otros de un obispo llamado Álvaro de Velegia (881-888) cuya lápida apareció en la iglesia de Bolívar. Pero es al revisar la documentación ligada a los reyes astures cuando se ha descubierto que junto a los prelados de Oviedo había una serie de obispos refugiados, que habían huido de las incursiones árabes, entre ellos este Álvaro. En un episcopologio elaborado por el investigador medievalista Manuel Carriedo Tejedo se incluye una lista de mitrados que se califican de "cantabro-alaveses" en los que están Valentín (759), Pascasio (811), Kintila (812), Leolalio (832), Antonio (863), Seruato (867) Placentio (872) y Álvaro de Velegia (877-888), el último. "No son de Oviedo, sino de Calahorra, Palencia, Oca, luego Valpuesta, y también Veleia. Los cristianos huyen de los árabes y se refugian en Asturias. También los obispos", asegura Langarica. "Cuando vuelve a su tierra es evidente que el Obispado toma otra titularidad porque Veleia debe estar destruida y Frias La Aukensis parecido . De Álvaro que se titula obispo de Velegia, no se sabía nada de él hasta que han aparecido esos documentos en Oviedo. Cristianos y mártires El investigador cree que Veleia como la ciudad más importante de la Llanada tenía todos las condicionantes para ser sede episcopal. "Se sabía que había cristianos, incluso mártires, aunque se desconoce todo lo que pasó antes de llegar los árabes. En el siglo XIV se instaló un priorato de la orden de San Juan del que quedaron restos hasta el siglo XIX. Había una tradición eclesiástica en Iruña", sostiene González de Langarica. ¿Y el camino? Cuando apareció la tumba de Santiago en Compostela, la peregrinación de los cristianos arranca enseguida. Tanto el actual camino francés como el de la costa están impracticables y son inseguros por la dominación musulmana y los ataques normandos. Así que el camino original, el primero desde Europa, pasa siempre por Álava. Por un lado, desde Roncesvalles, Pamplona y la calzada romana hasta Armentia, Veleia, Cuartango o Lacozmonte, Valdegovía, Valderejo, desfiladero de Herrán, Valle de Tobalina , Oña a Burgos o de Oña a Valderredible y Oviedo. " Este era el primer camino ¨" Camino que va por Vitoria , Veleia , Cuartango o Lacozmonte , Valdegobia , Valpuesta ( Val composita compos de stelas , Cuna del Castellano y Euskera escrito , saquen del muro al de Nograro y tengan cuidado con “ El Brazo “ como dice el cartel vive bien que as de morir ) , Valderejo ( Val de la rejo - a ), Ribera ( R Ibera con el Vascuenzo de la reja - o ) , Herran ( Valle de Tobalina X , La Aukensis con sus eremitorios de San Felix - San Roque , Pontecerci , San Martin de Ferran con sus monjes .... je je je ? , El Popilo ( abad Paulo ) , Dondisle ( San Martin de Don ... Domine , Primer Pueblo de España ) , Orbañanos , Obarenes ( Pirenes ... ) con La Torre de Herran - Hospital de Peregrinos y con pinturas de su Biblioteca …% con un cartel que dice DEL Papa ..... % ? ) , necropolis y fuentes . El obispado olvidado de su actual Santidad OCA P ACO , que por algo Le nombro ? . Esto no es carton piedra . A ver donde estan los libros , codices , cartularios y reliquias de Veleia , Valpuesta y La Aukensis , que se los llevaron y nunca han vuelto a su destino , que busque el obispo emerito que tiene Tela ? en Oviedo , Burgos ( Porcelos - por celos … ) , Leon , Valencia . San Millan , Oña y en El Vaticano etc. ), Quintana Martin Galindez ( torre de S...... ), Lomana ( torre de Bonifaz y El Mayor ), Quintana Maria ( Mirador de Tubalin , necrópolis , cuidado no me pisen ), Frias ( Troya , Roca , Oca , Briga , Fridas , Castella Vetula , Castilla la Vieja , Al qila ... San Atto el Aukensis , San Vicente ? , antigua capital del Valle de Tobalina ) , Cillaperlata ( La Santina , Cilla Perla Ta , Cueva Longa - El dia Negro en Encinillas con Pelayo y el Duque de Cantabria su suegro , gracias “ al Mayor y la Virgen “ ganaron la batalla y dejaron a La Virgen de Cobadonga , la única que queda de las tres que se hicieron , en agradecimiento de haber ganado la primera batalla de la reconquista ? ) , Trespaderne ( Tres Pader ne , El Cristo ), Tartales de Cilla de ( San Fermin ) , El Sante ? , Oña ( Petra , Condal , Jesuita y Real con el Rey Sancho III " el Mayor " como Santiago , que hizo tanto por el Camino en Europa y hoy esta aqui tan olvidado con todos los Sanchos ( Santos ? ) a falta del Panza ( ¿Quien desvio el camino . El de la Calzada por intereses , pues descalzo esta el Camino ? ). Quien va a Santiago y no va por San Salvador ( Oña , Petra ) , visita al criado y no al Señor ) Con los Tres que trajo “ El Mayor “ de La Peña a La Petra … Y … % ? , Poza de la Sal ( castillo , salinas y el amigo Felix ) de ahi a Burgos o de Oña a Valderredible , Aguilar de Campoo a Oviedo .
